The development of the sector has contributed to the Greek economy, adding to the Social Product, along with the essential cement exports, which constituted a source of imported foreign exchange.

Qualified greek and foreign authorities control and certify the production process, assuring customers that the product complies to the specifications prescribed by law.
That means that cement is in accordance with the contemporary construction needs, guaranteeing works of high and safe standards.

The members of the Hellenic Cement Industry Association take care of the environment and of sustainable development. They follow the latest in environmental technology and practice. They implement up to date methods for the containment of dust and other gas pollutants and generally try to minimize the annoyance. Furthermore, they help to reduce the environmental impacts caused by third party activities, saving the environment from tons of sub-products and from various types of wastes which are used as fuel or as raw material. The commitment of the Association members as far as Environmental Management is concerned, comprises one of its major reasons for being, including as necessary prerequisites the Development and Communication of Environmental Policy, the setting of targets as well as Environmental reports and control procedures. The overall aim is to safeguard the proper operation of the Environmental Management System.

To add, in the raw materials quarries, the exploitation is being carried out with the suitable environmental care, so that after mining, the restoration of the area takes place with tree planting or other methods, like hydro sowing. The systematic work which is being carried out all these years, has demonstrated exemplary restorations, with the creation of green zones and their incorporation into the ecosystem.

The Greek Cement Industry feels and operates as an «active cell» of our society, sensitive to its needs and taking care for them. Silently and by using discretion, it spreads its social contribution to local communities, to non Governmental Organizations, to Education, to the conveyors of Intellect and Civilization and to Health.
